Caustic soda pearls, a type of beaded sodium hydroxide product with regular shape and good flowability, are produced through advanced membrane electrolysis technology. With their high purity and ease of use, they provide efficient and reliable alkaline chemical raw materials for various industrial fields.
Caustic soda pearls are a common solid form of sodium hydroxide. Due to Caustic soda pearls’ unique physical properties and stable chemical performance, they occupy an important position in many industrial fields. Compared to Caustic soda flakes, Caustic soda pearls present a regular, round shape, typically between 0.6 and 1.0 millimeters in diameter. The particles are uniform, plump, and have excellent flowability. This shape makes it less prone to clumping during storage and transportation, facilitating accurate metering. Whether manually fed or added to an automated production line, it enables efficient operation, effectively reducing material waste and operational complexity.

The production process of caustic soda pearls primarily employs advanced membrane electrolysis technology. The entire process is rigorous and environmentally friendly. First, refined saturated brine is fed into an ion-exchange membrane electrolytic cell. Under the action of direct current, sodium and chloride ions in the brine undergo an electrolytic reaction, generating sodium hydroxide, chlorine gas, and hydrogen gas. The resulting sodium hydroxide solution has a concentration of approximately 30%-32%. It then enters an evaporation and concentration process, where a multi-effect evaporator concentrates the solution to over 99% molten sodium hydroxide. Next, molten sodium hydroxide is conveyed to an atomizing device at the top of the granulation tower. After atomization, it forms fine droplets. These droplets come into full contact with the counter-current cold air inside the granulation tower, rapidly cooling and solidifying into spherical particles, ultimately forming Caustic soda pearls. This production process not only ensures high product purity and low impurity content but also achieves efficient resource utilization and environmentally friendly protection through energy recovery and tail gas treatment.

Caustic soda pearls are strongly alkaline, readily soluble in water, and release a large amount of heat upon dissolution. Caustic soda pearls are widely used in industries such as chemical, textile, papermaking, printing and dyeing, metallurgy, and pharmaceuticals. For example, in the chemical industry, Caustic soda pearls are used to synthesize various organic compounds; in the textile industry, Caustic soda pearls are used for scouring and mercerizing cotton fibers; and in the papermaking industry, Caustic soda pearls are used for cooking wood fibers. Due to their morphological advantages and excellent properties, Caustic soda pearls have become an indispensable and important chemical raw material in many industrial production processes.
